Small Animal Irradiation

Mice models are used to study the effect of radiation both locally and systemically. Small animal research involving irradiation attempts to mimic clinical settings by irradiating small target volumes with high levels of precision and accuracy to create immunosuppressed immune systems which can be used to study and identify new therapeutic candidates and develop new therapies for diseases. Irradiation also help with creating therapies to sensitize tumors to radiation and protect normal tissues from radiation injury.
